Work Out at Home or on the Road With Jade of Spades App
Former college basketball player and Reebok celebrity trainer Jade Alexis, whose past clients include Alicia Keys, Eva Mendez, Brooklyn Decker, and Lamann Rucker, recently released the “Jade of Spades” fitness application for the iPhone. The app offers a series of cardio and strength exercises structured as a game.
After you choose your workout (core, leg, cardio, etc.) and level (half-deck or full-deck), the app shuffles a deck of cards. Each card shows an exercise and suggests a number of reps. Challenge yourself by working through each exercise, using only your bodyweight for resistance. The random order of the exercises keeps things fresh, making the app a great workout companion if you’re bored with your routine or on the road.
“Working out with only machines can restrict your range of motion and limit your ability to fully activate all your muscle fibers,” says Alexis, who is also launching a new website, LivingJade.com. Check out the site for more information on the Jade of Spaces app, a full library of exercises and tips for eating healthier, wherever you are.
Jade of Spades can be purchased for $1.99 at the iTunes store. Be on the lookout for the launch of Alexis’s second app, “20 Down.”
