Montreal Canadiens Defenseman P.K. Subban Goes HAM in the Weight Room
No, P.K. Subban is not a farmer. He just plays one during the off-season.
NHL.com profiled Subban last summer in its “Off-Season Training Series,” and we learned that the Montreal Canadiens defenseman orders a whole cow from a grain-fed farm to sustain him during the off-season.
After winning the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defensive player last season, Subban is getting even more beefed up this off-season. The latest edition of the Training Series features Subban performing the Farmer’s Walk in the not-so-rural city of Toronto.
Subban is also chronicling his workouts via his newly minted Instagram account.
In a video posted earlier this week, Subban goes HAM on a set of Weighted Chin-ups—100-pound Weighted Chin-Ups—while listening to the funky fresh 90’s track “Pump Up the Jam,” by Technotronic.
Subban again proved his might (and confirmed his sound judgment in workout music) in a video in which he performs a Split Jerk while listening to some Jay-Z.
Jump over to NHL.com to watch the training videos with Subban and fellow Norris Trophy finalist Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins. And be sure to check out the full library of hockey training videos here at STACK.
