adidas Unveils the Rose 3.5
Finally, adidas has unveiled their new Derrick Rose signature shoe. The bolder style of the new sneaker—dubbed the Rose 3.5—sets itself apart from its predecessor (remember the D Rose 3?)
Rose played a role in the shoe’s concept and design, and of course, he added some personal flair to the final product. “My main thing is always sharpening my game and improving my body, and with the D Rose 3.5, adidas took the same approach,” said the Chicago Bulls player. “This shoe takes the best things from my last shoe and makes them even better. I’m more comfortable and supported on the court and bringing some real serious style too.” (Watch D Rose talk about his evolution from a high school player to an NBA MVP.)
The shoe features SprintFrame technology—including an external heel counter—to allow for more motion control at a lighter weight while offering maximum support and breathability. A customized ankle collar pocket and a breathable mesh tongue enhance a player’s ability to cut hard.
It wouldn’t D Rose without some Chicago live. Inscribed on the inside of the tongue are the words “Rooted in Chicago.”
The Rose 3.5 will be available for purchase on Jan. 31 for $160 in the gray, black and red home edition and the black, white and red colorway for away games. Six additional colorways will be available in the future.
