Trinidad James, Gucci Mane and Chief Keef Release Mixtapes
Trinidad James, Gucci Mane and Chief Keef all released free projects recently. Check them out below.
Trinidad James: 10 Pc. Mild
James blasted onto the scene last year with his infectious hit, “All Gold Everything,” and he’s spent the better part of 2013 fighting off those pesky doubters who cast him as a one-hit-wonder. This 10-track project might subdue the naysayers, but an outright hit is noticeably absent. One stand-out is the Danny Brown and Fabo (yes, that Fabo)-assisted “Quez.”
In case you were wondering about the mixtape title, “It’s called 10 Pc. Mild, which is my favorite thing to order from the wing spot in Atlanta called American Deli,” said the performer during an interview with Miss Info.
Gucci Mane: World War 3: Molly, Gas and Lean
Never one to be out hustled, Gucci Mane released three separate mixtapes last week: WW3: Molly, WW3: Gas and WW3: Lean. Each one features the Atlanta rapper’s collaborations with a different producer. Molly is handled by Metro Boomin; Gas highlights his efforts with Zaytoven; and TM-88 oversees Lean. A number of rappers make appearances, including former Brick Squad member Waka Flocka Flame.
Leading up to the release of the freebies, Gucci used Twitter to air out a few of his grievances with southern rappers T.I., Jeezy and Yo Gotti and offered to sell all his rights to Waka Flocka Flame’s albums, publishing and touring for $1 million.
Chief Keef: Bang Part Two
Chief Keef released Bang Part Two, a follow-up to his 2011 Bang mixtape. The 19-track project features only two other artists, Tray Savage and Tadoe, both of whom appear on “Cheefin Keef.” Two of the tracks, “Morgan Tracy” and “I Ain’t Done Turnin’ Up,” were previously released, but the others are new. The tape struggles to find its groove and there are no apparent hits. That may be due in part to the lack of material from producer Young Chop or from the onslaught of drama surrounding the teen in recent months.
