WATCH: J.J. Watt Shows Off His Post-Surgery Progress by Jumping Onto a Massive Box
All-Pro Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is back in the gym and showing everyone that his recent “groin” surgery is a thing of the past. The surgery was actually not limited to his groin, as it was revealed last week that five of J.J.’s abdominal muscles had to be repaired as well.

Nevertheless, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year looks like he is recovering well. He just posted a video of himself performing an impressive Box Jump, a movement that stresses all of the muscles of his lower body and core. You can see he is again exhibiting the kind of explosion that makes him one of the most feared defenders in NFL history. There are no signs of limitations as J.J. explodes into full extension through his core, hips, knees and ankles and lands athletically on top of the box.
Watt likely has more work ahead to add muscle mass and strength to reach his usual beastly levels, but this is a great sign that he is well on his way to doing so. Considering the guy lives in the gym during the off-season, we have no doubt he will return to form in 2016. In fact, considering that Watt played with a half dozen injuries last year, we’d probably take him with a busted groin and stitched-together core over any other NFL defender at full health.
