Mark Wahlberg and P. Diddy Promote New Fitness Drink, AQUAhydrate
Actor Mark Wahlberg and rap mogul P. Diddy linked up with the Southern California company AQUAhydrate to launch a new performance water.
AQUAhydrate’s fitness water sets itself apart from the competition in two ways: the water has a high PH balance; and it is charged with 72 bio-available “performance grade” electrolytes. According to the brand’s official website, the water’s high PH level helps to balance the body by fighting off acidic waste. The water is also UV-filtered five times and is free of flavors and sweeteners. (Check out how to Individualize Your Hydration Schedule.)
Walberg and Diddy will take an active role in promoting the product, along with AQUAhydrate CEO, John Cochran, the former president of Fiji Water. They will seek out retail partnerships for distribution and leverage their popularity in the creation of future products.
“This is a truly innovative company, and I’m thrilled to be part of it,” said Wahlberg. “We all strive to do the best we can for our bodies, but sometimes schedules, stress and other factors get in the way. AQUAhydrate helps me achieve the balance my body needs, no matter what. I enjoy being involved in every aspect of the AQUAhydrate brand, and I’m looking forward to a very successful partnership.”
P. Diddy, who spoke with MTV News about the product, expressed similar sentiments. “I drank this water. I loved the way it tasted,” said the Bad Boy head, who previously avoided water. “It gave me a certain amount of energy, a certain amount of focus and helped me with my recovery for those nights where . . . I do work hard, but it is a known fact that I do play hard.”
The company has reportedly already lined up distribution through GNC, Safeway and Kroger. AQUAhydrate will be pricey however; most 12-packs cost between $25 and $30.
