Watch the New ‘Furious 7’ Trailer
Universal has just unloaded the latest trailer for Furious 7. Check it out below!
The clip packs even more action than previous trailers, featuring unbelievable car stunts and a determined Jason Statham out for retribution against the group that took down his brother in the last film. “I don’t have friends; I have family,” says Vin Diesel’s Dom resolutely in the clip. And by the looks of it, Statham’s character, Ian Shaw, a former Special Forces assassin, will test everyone in Dom’s inner circle. There are at least two must-see collisions: a fight between the Rock and Statham, who is playing the bad guy for once, and a brawl between Michelle Rodriguez and Ronda Rousey.
Through the years, fans have seen a noticeable shift from drag racing, which was at the center of the first flick, to more action-based drama. Even the characters seem mildly aware that their antics are getting zanier. “Can somebody just walk me through what we’re supposed to be doing,” pleads Roman (Tyrese Gibson), before he and his bunch drive their cars out of a plane in mid-flight. Later he adds, “This right here takes crazy to a whole ‘nother level!”
Furious 7 will rev into theaters on April 3. Most of the cast returns from the sixth installment, including Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and the late Paul Walker, who died in a car accident during filming. They will be joined by a few newbies—Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and the aforementioned Statham and Rousey.
