Nike Reveals All-New GS 2 Soccer Boot
Late last week, Nike revealed the all-new GS 2—the second generation of its GS soccer boot. According to the brand, not only is it the lightest and fastest production boot they have ever created, it’s also the most environmentally friendly boot currently available. (Check out all of STACK’s soccer content.)
The GS 2 features ACC—All Conditions Control—technology that enables soccer players to have unmatched ball control in wet weather conditions. (Read up on Nike’s ACC Technology.) On the outside of the classic white and black boot, the ACC insignia will be featured in safari print.
Nike used renewable and recycled materials to produce the boot—specifically the laces, tongue and lining. Castor beans were used to create the bio-based traction plate and sock liner. The shoe also features an asymmetrical heel counter and heel bucket for improved stability and support.
Several European soccer players have already agreed to sport the boots, including Theo Walcott, Eden Hazard, Raheem Sterling, and Mario Goetze. The GS 2 is currently available for pre-order and retail for $400. Consumers can also wait until Dec. 1 to order a pair when they make their debut on Nike.com.
