Subway "Pullin' For a Cause" Event Video, Featuring Arian Foster

It doesn’t hurt to get a little barbecue sauce on your shirt—certainly nothing like the hurt Arian Foster inflicted on opposing NFL defenses last season on his way to winning the league’s rushing title. Foster recently helped bring barbecue to downtown Los Angeles as part of Subway’s “Pullin’ For a Cause” text to donate campaign to benefit worthy causes.

If you don’t know by now, Subway restaurants are serving up tasty BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches this summer. The LA event raised funds for the West Alabama Food Bank, a non-profit organization devoted to helping victims of the May 2011 flood disaster in the Heart of Dixie.

The Houston Texans running back and BBQ-lover took a cheat day, joining Subway’s own Jared Fogle for a taste of the Pulled Pork sandwich [Foster generally avoids beef and pork products in favor of leaner meats like chicken and turkey].

Foster credits much of his success to healthy eating, a reformation he began upon entering the NFL. “Being a pro means taking care of everything in your business,” Foster says. “Right now, my body is my business, so I have to take the best care of my body in order to get the best production out of it.”

Foster continues: “You can easily pile on 2,000 calories in a meal without even thinking about it. Subway really promotes a healthy lifestyle, and that’s what I’m all about—longevity of life.”
