Nike+ LeBron X Will Be the Most Expensive Sneaker Ever

August 23, 2012

Must See Entertainment and Style Videos

This fall, Nike and LeBron James will take the sneaker game to new heights, literally. Coming off  a double-MVP season, his first NBA championship and his second Olympic gold medal, James has every reason to feel like he's sitting on top of the world.  However, is the King worthy of the most expensive sneaker ever?

At a jaw-dropping $315, the first edition of the LeBron X will include the latest Nike+ basketball technology, first introduced in Hyperdunk+. The price tag will be $145 higher than the hot-selling Nike LeBron 9.

Nike will not be hosting a midnight launch event for the LeBron X. Midnight launches of limited edition shoes have stirred acts of violence. Given that fact and that the U.S. economy is in a slump, do you think the sneaker companies should stop producing such events to hype their limited-edition sneakers? And what about that price tag, STACKletes?  Please share your opinions in the comments field below.
