New Balance Readies the Minimus HI-REZ For 2013 Release

October 29, 2012

New Balance Minimus HI-REZ

The New BalanceĀ Minimus HI-REZ road shoe will be dropping in April 2013. Weighing in at just 4.3 ounces, the HI-REZ is uber-light. According to Katherine Petrecca, business manager for New Balance Innovation Studio, the latest addition to the Minimus line promises "a completely different experience for the runner by allowing the foot to move as it would naturally while still offering underfoot protection."

The shoe is made up of 42 independent lightweight midsole pods to allow it to move and flex in harmony with the foot. The upper is made of FantomFit, and there is zero height difference between the heel and toe. The HI-REZ is so much like a complete barefoot experience that socks are not required. In fact, New Balance recommends that you don't wear them.

The HI-REZ will retail for $119, so save up some cash. When April comes, you'll be running around like a caveman.
