One of the hottest sneakers of the season is coming soon from Nike and Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba's Kobe 8 SYSTEM will be Nike's lightest and lowest basketball shoe to date, weighing in at 9.6 ounces. Inspired by the Chinese Zodiac calendar (next year is the Year of the Snake), the shoe will feature python-like patterns made with Nike's Engineered Mesh textiles. A Lunarlon midsole will ensure lightweight cushioning; and a one-millimeter rubber outsole—with both a classic herringbone and a snake scale pattern—will maximize traction.
The KOBE 8 SYSTEM will be available for customization and purchase on NIKEiD starting Dec. 8 (availability begins on Dec. 20).
