J. Cole has pushed back the release of his sophomore album, Born Sinner. The project was initially slated to hit shelves later this month. (Remember when he announced the album? We do!). But the Roc Nation MC revealed during an interview with PopStopTV, that he hasn't finished tying up all the loose ends quite yet.

"Nah, it's not going to make Jan. 28," said Cole referring to the initial release date. "It's going to be a little later than that. I needed more time to get it done. I don't even know what [fans are] going to feel. I hope they're going to love it, but I don't know if it's going to be the production or the stories."

Cole first announced the title and projected release date back in November during a U-stream session with fans by showing them a video. It is now unclear when fans will get to hear the album. As it stands, "Miss America" is the only single that has been released from Born Sinner thus far.

During an earlier interview with Billboard, Cole promised heavier subject matter on the forthcoming LP. "[The album will detail] the story of corruption—corruption of an artist when commercial appeal is involved, or corruption of a relationship when temptation is involved, or corruption of a government when capitalism is involved," he explained.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy his latest offering, "2012"—a song he released for free just before Christmas to commemorate the Mayan prophecy that predicted the end of the world.
