During the E3 conference, EA Sports highlighted new features they are bringing to Madden, NBA Live and FIFA through several gameplay trailers. Check them out below.
Madden NFL 25
The Madden NFL 25 trailer makes a good first impression. The most noticeable upgrade is the attention paid to graphics. EA Sports has also added "Player Sense," which allows gamers to quickly react to their surrounding and anticipate the moves of others; "War in the Trenches," which aims to improve play on the offensive and defensive lines; and "True Step Locomotion," which provides gamers with more realistic control over players' movements.
"Lineplay is the heart of football, and now it's at the heart of Madden," said Cam Weber, GM of EA Sports Football.
Five-time Pro Bowler and reigning NFL MVP Adrian Peterson will be featured on the cover of PS4 and Xbox One versions of the title, and football legend Barry Sanders will be featured on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
NBA Live 14
NBA Live is easily the most maligned series from EA Sports. The forthcoming edition is the first since NBA Live 10, which featured Dwight Howard on the cover. Now we have 2012 Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving on the cover and a highly touted Ignite engine that should create a more realistic simulation of gameplay.
The new game will evolve by updating each player's stats and analyzing their tendencies following each NBA game. And EA has employed "BounceTek" technology to help improve ball management. The idea behind the title seems to be a full re-launch. EA is not even bothering to release a version for current generation consoles. NBA Live 14 will come to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014.
Rapper Drake, a self-professed FIFA aficionado, helps debut the trailer for FIFA 14, which will sport a number of updates, including the ability for players to move around without sacrificing momentum, courtesy of "Precision Movement" technology. Another new tool, "Elite Technique," will customize the game by taking into account the creativity and skill displayed by top soccer players.
"FIFA 14 on next-gen consoles will feel alive with players who possess human-like intelligence, reactions and instincts, players who move and behave like real athletes, and stadiums that buzz with electricity and excitement," promised David Rutter, executive producer of the EA Sports FIFA franchise.
A date has not been set for release on the Xbox One and PS4. But the game will hit shelves (with fewer features) for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, 3DS, Vita and PSP on Sept. 24.
