GoPro Captures the Nation’s Top High School Football Talent at the New Orleans Nike SPARQ Combine
All of the big dogs in the high school class of 2015 showed up for the New Orleans Nike SPARQ Combine. And a bevy of GoPro cameras caught the action in typical awe-inspiring fashion. The proof is in the videos above.
Tyron Johnson, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Louisiana, punched his ticket to “The Opening,” presented by Nike Football. Three-star recruit Kirk Merritt recorded the highest SPARQ score (138.84) in New Orleans, securing his bid to the four-day event for the country’s elite high school football players (mostly upperclassmen), held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.
The star of the SPARQ show in New Orleans, however, was a prospect who isn’t even eligible to participate in The Opening.
Dylan Moses is a running back from University Laboratory School, located on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Moses is committed to LSU, but it’ll be awhile before he plays a game at Tiger Stadium. That’s because Moses is in the class of 2017. He received an unofficial offer from coach Les Miles as an eighth-grader and pledged to the Tigers during his freshman season.
Moses posted the second-highest SPARQ score (120.81) at the New Orleans event. The ninth-grader ran the 40-Yard Dash in 4.57 seconds, recorded a 37-inch vertical jump and 36-inch kneeling power ball throw.
Watch highlights of Moses, Johnson and other top performers at the SPARQ Combine in the featured video above. Tune into the other videos to see top talent in action at the Orlando/Miami Nike Football Training Camp and the Charlotte Nike SPARQ Combine as well.
