Here's Your First Look at J.J. Watt's First Signature Training Shoe With Reebok

Learn about the JJ I Trainer, J.J. Watt's first signature shoe from Reebok.

Very few NFL players have their own signature shoe. Nike gave cornerback Darrelle Revis his own kicks, the Nike Zoom Revis, but they faded in popularity after a couple of models. Cam Newton has his own cleats with Under Armour, but you can't rock them off the field. Victor Cruz's Nike Air Cruz might be the best of the bunch at the moment, but other than that, it's slim pickings.

That's why the unveiling of the Reebok JJ I Trainer, Houston Texans star J.J. Watt's first signature trainer, is such a big deal—because it is joining a very select group. On Thursday morning at an event in New York City, the former NFL Defensive MVP showed off his new kicks, which features a white upper offset by red accents around the sole, between the laces and covering his personal logo gracing the tongue.

The kicks were a year in the making in a collaboration between Watt and the design team at Reebok. Watt wanted a shoe that could handle his HIIT circuit-inspired workouts and perform well on turf, concrete or any other surface. The shoe's outsole features "multidirectional traction" for exactly that purpose. It also features what Reebok is calling Liquid Foam technology to provide cushioning and absorb shock.

You can cop your own pair of JJ I Trainers on July 15 for $100.
