Reebok Summer Gear for the CrossFit Athlete

STACK breaks down some Reebok CrossFit gear and tells you what works best for your training sessions.

Even though it's not technically summer where you live (although the temperatures may indicate otherwise), it's time to get in shape. Many are turning to CrossFit to accomplish their fitness goals. Here at STACK, we tried out some of Reebok's latest gear. Check out the reviews below.

Plenty of compression-style shirts are available on the market, and they all do the same thing: wick sweat and keep you dry and cool (or warm, depending on the fabric). However, while wearing one, I've never thought to myself, "Wow, this is really comfortable to work out in." They often feel a bit unnatural. The Tri-Blend shirt is an exception. It's soft and it's cut to allow the shoulders to move freely during a typical CrossFit session. It's also slightly longer, so you won't show off your belly much, unless you want to. Easily my favorite shirt to work out in.

I really dig the stretch fabric, the shorts' breathability and the styling. They are sort of modeled after board shorts with the drawstring and faux front fly. My only gripe is when you tie them off, the front seems to bunch out. This is simply a vanity issue. It won't affect performance, and it only seems to happen in the slim fit versions. But I hope Reebok takes note of the issue and addresses it in future releases. Other than that, these are incredibly comfortable and light—perfect for a summer WOD.

Similar styling to the Core Training Shorts, but with a higher inseam—great on days when you're doing a lot of lower-body lifts. If you don't mind showing off a bit of thigh (or if that's your thing), these are great.

Reebok One Series Stretch Knit Pull-Over Hoodie

Reebok One Series Stretch Knit Pull-Over Hoodie

OK, its not technically in the CrossFit line, but this hoodie would be ideal for early morning or late night workouts when the temperature drops. Stretchy and breathable fabric, plus aggressive styling, but it's not as cumbersome as your typical hoodie. I really like the small pocket. It's just big enough to bring a key, a small phone or some cash with you if you go for a run. It's also tucked away on your hip to be close to your body while you exercise.
