Much has been made of Cam Newton's early departure from last night's post-game press conference following the Carolina Panthers' loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
Some are saying it came off as immature and disrespectful. Others admit it was an understandable reaction after coming up short in the biggest game of his career. No matter what side of the debate you're on, a new video that surfaced this morning should change the conversation about Newton's actions.
In the clip, you can clearly hear Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. talking during Newton's press conference.

It sounds like Harris was being interviewed directly behind the curtain. Newton and the assembled reporters could hear him talking. The above clip includes this quote from Harris:
"Load the box, force y'all to throw the ball. Can you throw the football? That was the game plan."
By the time Newton heard Harris begin his joyous interview, he had already answered several questions from the media. At that point, he probably decided he'd rather not listen to Harris boast about how Denver shut down Carolina's offense, so he exited stage left.
Considering it was so soon after losing the Super Bowl, it's tough to blame him.
