2010 STACK Elite 50 Colleges: #2 Florida
Mindful that you’re a student-athlete—and not just a student—we offer you the 4th Annual STACK Elite 50 Colleges, a ranking of the best schools for academically-minded athletes. After months of crunching numbers [wins, losses, championships, school rankings, academic progress and more], we improved on our prior years’ compilations to help you choose a school with the right balance of academics and athletics.
Repeating its silver medal performance, Florida comes in at #2.
WHY THEY’RE ON TOP
Florida again failed to dethrone the champ, but the Gators have reason to be proud of their second Elite 50 silver medal finish. UF football finally knocked off the men of Troy, but not much else changed in the Swamp since last year. Tebow is gone, but the Gainesville faithful still create a difficult atmosphere for opponents, who rarely walk out with a W.
