The 2015 NBA Christmas Uniforms Have Leaked, and They Are Awesome
As if the awesomeness of the NBA Playoffs were not enough, today we get another treat with a sneak peek at the 2015 NBA Christmas-themed jerseys each of the teams selected to play on Dec. 25 will be rocking.
Via Uni Watch, the utmost authority on all things style in sports, adidas designed Christmas uniforms for all 30 NBA teams, since they aren’t yet sure who will be playing on the holiday. But it’s a safe bet that teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors will be suiting up that day, so we might as well check them out.
Even though adidas is on its way out as the official gear provider for the NBA (its contract with the league expires at the end of the 2016-2017 season), their designers did a masterful job with these unis, after multiple swings and misses with some previous experiments. Gone are the sleeves that were met with overwhelmingly negative reviews from fans and players alike. The new uniforms have an old school feel to them, with cursive letters for the team name on the front and a heavy use of cream coloring, instead of the typical, bland white we’re used to.
But most important, the uniforms are clean. There isn’t too much going on, just the team name, numbers, two-tone color scheme and the team’s logo on the bottom of the shorts. Sometimes simple is better, and that rings true here. Can’t wait to see these things in person next season.
