Details Released on New Apple Watch

STACK previews features of the forthcoming Apple Watch, reportedly to be available in early 2015.

Details on the long awaited Apple Watch were recently released. According to Apple, the watch is designed to work in conjunction with iPhone models 5.0 and up, and will be available in early 2015.

Three models of the watch will be offered—Watch, Watch Edition, and Watch Sport—allowing users to choose from a wide range of colors and styles for the band and face. The face will also come in two sizes—38 mm and 42 mm—to ensure it fits comfortably on the user's wrist.

Regardless of which model you select, all Apple watches will share several unique attributes, including a touchscreen face so you can scroll, zoom and swipe to access features; voice activation, so you can ask Siri for information and updates like you can with your iPhone or iPad; and a walkie-talkie function, allowing you to talk with other watch users nearby.  You can also create doodles and drawings on the  screen and send your artwork to others.

The watch lets you receive notifications, alerts and even driving directions (through vibrations sent from the watch). Like some other smart watches, the Apple Watch is designed to improve your health and fitness. You can send your actual heartbeat to others, create fitness goals, track your progress, and be prompted to get up and move more throughout the day.

Prices for the base model are expected to start around $349.
