Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘Sabotage’
A trailer has been released for Sabotage, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest action flick.
Drawing inspiration from Agatha Christie’s classic And Then There Were None, the plot revolves around an elite DEA squad that takes down a safe house belonging to a powerful drug cartel—and the blowback that results. The agents, led by John “Breacher” Wharton (Schwarzenegger), find themselves in the crosshairs of an assassin and unsure about the loyalty of their teammates.
During an interview with USA Today, the action star compared the movie to 1987’s Predator, only with a different setting. “Once again, every turn you make, there’s another surprise and someone gets whacked. And we don’t know who is whacking whom. But our guys one-by-one are disappearing in the most gruesome way,” said Schwarzenegger.
Sam Worthington, Mireille Enos, Joe Manganiello, Josh Holloway, Terrence Howard and Olivia Williams are also in the movie. Director David Ayer shares the writing duties with Skip Woods, best known for his work on 2001’s Swordfish.
With such an interesting premise and a strong cast, the movie may signal the beginning of the former California governor’s film comeback. His recent box office offerings have been unimpressive. “There are so many people that study why movies did well and why they didn’t do so well. I look at it very simply: I am very committed to working my way back up from the bottom slowly. We will get to where I was. That’s my goal. And it doesn’t matter how much work it takes,” Schwarzenegger said.
Sabotage is scheduled for release April 11, 2014.[youtube video=”FeHpSdQSH0c” /]
