Casey and Juliette, a young American couple traveling in Germany, get caught between two criminals playing a game of cat and mouse in the big screen thriller Autobahn.
This film stars legendary actors Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley as the ruthless criminals, while the desperate couple is played by exciting new talents Nicholas Hoult of the X-Men film franchise and Felicity Jones, best known for her Oscar-nominated performance in The Theory of Everything.
The story revolves around Casey’s attempt to pay for Juliette’s medical emergency, leading him to pull a drug heist for an eccentric gangster played by Kingsley. When the caper goes wrong, Casey finds himself running from an evil drug lord (Hopkins), who will stop at nothing to retrieve his merchandise.
The cast also features Lindsey Elizabeth (The Age of Adaline), Marwan Kenzari (Wolf), Clemens Schick (Casino Royale) and Christian Rubeck (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters).
The screenplay was written by F. Scott Frazier, best known for the 2013 John Cusack action thriller The Numbers Station. The movie was co-written and directed by Eran Creevy, who recently wrote and directed the crime drama Welcome to the Punch.
Accomplished filmmaker Joel Silver, of the Sherlock Holmes and Matrix movie franchises, is producing the picture. Deadline quoted Silver talking about the potential he saw in the film early on, saying: “When I first read F. Scott Frazier’s script for Autobahn, I knew it had the makings of a great action movie. It’s a gritty, adrenaline-fueled thrill ride through Europe with an incredible cast.”
Autobahn will arrive in theaters nationwide on Oct. 30.
