Brian Deegan: Training to Be Indestructible
Last month’s Back-to-School issue of STACK magazine featured an interview with Metal Mulisha General Brian Deegan, in which readers learn how the highly-decorated FMX rider stays a head above his competition.
When asked about the secret of his success and the longevity of his career, Deegan credited his off-bike training routine.
“I feel better now than I felt throughout my career, because I train all the time,” said the Metal Mulisha godfather. “If I take days off, I feel worse. Your body needs a day to recover, but I feel like my recovery time is half of what it takes (other) people.”
Deegan went on to explain the importance of having a foundation of muscle to protect his body. “It’s better to have some muscle, because when you crash, (muscle) protects you when you hit the ground.” He continued, “There are guys that ride freestyle and don’t work out, and they’re always (getting) hurt.”
Although the mag article included three of The General’s top training exercises, STACK TV just released Deegan’s entire training routine, which Deegan performs with master trainer Charles Dao at iCON Sports Alliance in Murrieta, Calif.
Use the same exercises to gain an extreme edge over your opponents and to become as indestructible as FMX legend Brian Deegan.
