The Cleveland Browns regressed earlier this month, losing four Pro Bowlers via free agency in one day.
On Thursday, the Browns signed former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to a 2-year contract worth $15 million. The deal guarantees $6.75 million and could reach $22 million if Griffin hits certain achievement milestones.
RG3 is hoping to reboot his NFL career. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, but thereafter he was plagued by injuries, including an ACL tear in a 2013 playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he never regained his early performance.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to join the Dawg Pound and help build something here in Cleveland,” Griffin said.
