DMX Accused of Robbing Man at a Gas Station
A 21-year-old New Jersey man has accused rapper DMX of robbing him at a Newark gas station over the weekend. According to the victim, he was talking with the MC when a member of his entourage confronted him, shoved a gun in his face and made him fork over his cash. The victim emptied his pockets, producing around $3,200. He alleges that X grabbed the money and got into one of four black Cadillac Escalades.
“The two had a brief conversation about rap music, and during the conversation a male in DMX’s entourage showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim’s money,” said police spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover.
Police are reportedly investigating the incident. A rep for the rapper has denied the claims, reports TMZ.
Rich Homie Quan Denies Dissing Young Thug
If there is any truth to the old adage, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” we could be looking at the emergence of a new beef. Since announcing his departure from Rich Gang’s tour, Rich Homie Quan has cooled his relationship with Young Thug considerably. He went from being affectionately referred to as Thugga’s “hubby” on Instagram to being called “B**** Homie Quan” during concerts.
Still, RHQ insists that he isn’t dissing Thug in his latest single, “You Not,” on which he raps: “I been me, you ain’t you homie / And you ain’t no thug, plus you ain’t that n**** I thought you was.”
He told fans on Twitter, “#YouNot is not a diss song. That song was recorded over a year ago. I would neva diss my brother [Young Thug] despite what y’all think or say.”
Lil Durk’s Manager Killed in Chicago; Rapper Reacts
Lil Durk’s manager, OTF Chino, was fatally shot on Mar. 27. Born Uchenna Agina, the 24-year-old was in a parked car outside a restaurant in Avalon Park, when an unidentified man walked up and fired multiple shots into the vehicle. Agina was shot several times, including once in the head. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Trinity Hospital.
Ironically, just hours before, Agina had met with Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah to help promote the player’s anti-violence campaign. Through his Noah’s Arc Foundation, Noah is selling necklaces that resemble tear drops to fund the cause, and Durk put the symbolic jewelry on display when he reacted to Agina’s passing on social media.
“Rocking my drop chain for Chino and the rest we lost. Y’all family in my prayers. We staying strong, still the King of Chicago,” wrote Durk. “Album still drop May 12. Single on the radio. Streets can’t stop me. I’m still on my LilDurk s***.”
Police are investigating the murder but have made no arrests at this time.
Kendrick Lamar Engaged to Longtime Girlfriend
Kendrick Lamar is engaged to his high school sweetheart Whitney Alford. He confirmed the news during an interview on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.”
“I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day, you want to always have real people around you, period. Everybody that’s been around me has been down since day one and I can’t change that,” Lamar said. “I don’t change for nobody. I always show respect when respect is being given and people that’s been by your side, you supposed to honor that. That’s how you stand up.”
Earlier this year, he opened up about their relationship to Billboard, calling Alford his “best friend.” “I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion—she’s somebody I can tell my fears to,” said Kendrick.
