On August 14, EA presented FIFA 13‘s Match Day feature to the gaming community, forever blurring the line between reality and interactive gameplay. For the first time in the history of interactive entertainment, Match Day’s player statistics will continually change to reflect the real-life performances of each player throughout the season. Injuries, team form, and media gossip are other real-life soccer variables that gamers will have to grapple with.
Gamers who dive into Match Day can no longer rely on static computer-generated statistics. They will have to adapt their strategy on the fly, depending on what is happening with real players. This will add an even deeper layer of immersion to the world’s most popular soccer game.
You’ll have an opportunity to demo the new Match Day mode on Sept. 11, two weeks before the Sept. 25 release date of FIFA 13. Learn more about updates to this year’s FIFA.
