Since he arrived in Indiana in 2010, Paul George has been the face of the Pacers franchise. Now, his face will appear on hundreds of pairs of shoes around the Indianapolis area. That’s because George is set to debut the PG1, his first signature sneaker from Nike. The debut will take place in London on Thursday, with a 2K17 rendering of his face adorning the shoe’s sockliner.
George becomes the 21st basketball player to receive his own shoe from Nike, and the PG1 does not disappoint. Besides the sockliner, personal design details are featured throughout, especially rendering George’s love of fishing. The lace lock is designed in the mold of a bobber, and the upper is reminiscent of a fish’s scales. George’s logo appears on the shoe’s tongue as well.

Performance-wise, the shoe features a forefoot strap for support, a Zoom Air unit for cushioning and multidirectional “blade” traction on the sole to facilitate superior court grip and traction.
George will debut his kicks on Thursday when the Pacers take on the Denver Nuggets in London. The shoe will retail for $110 when it becomes available to the public.
