Ben Affleck Stars in David Fincher Thriller ‘Gone Girl’
Ben Affleck stars in the upcoming film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel, Gone Girl. In the film, Affleck plays Nick Dunne, a bar owner whose beautiful wife Amy goes missing on the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary. To avoid becoming a suspect in the case, Nick lies about the kind of marriage he and Amy have, painting their life together as a blissful union. Soon, the façade begins to crumble and people start wondering whether Nick murdered his wife.
Starring as Amy is British actress Rosamund Pike, best known for her roles in The World’s End and Jack Reacher. The cast also includes Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave), Missi Pyle (A Haunted House 2), Patrick Fugit (We Bought a Zoo) and actor/filmmaker Tyler Perry.
David Fincher (The Social Network) directs the movie. Fincher has plenty of experience with thrillers. He directed the chilling Panic Room, as well as Zodiac and most recently The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Gillian Flynn, the book’s author, wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation herself.
Gone Girl will turn up in theaters nationwide on Oct. 3, 2014. Watch the trailer below.
