WATCH: ‘The Mountain’ from ‘Game of Thrones’ Lifts Massive Weight at the World Deadlift Championships
Hafthór Björnsson, better known as Gregor Clegane in the HBO series Game of Thrones, hoisted some serious weight in the 2015 World Deadlift Championships. What would you expect from someone who is 6-foot-9, weighs almost 400 pounds and is nicknamed “The Mountain.”
Björnsson did not win the competition, but he was able to deadlift a whopping 992 pounds, setting a new personal best. He subsequently posted a video on his Instagram showing him stone loading at the event, where he exclaimed, “ STILL KING OF THE STONES!!” After he tosses the boulder onto the platform, he rips off his shirt to cool down.
