Holiday Wish List 2015: The Jordan CP3.IX
The first Chris Paul sneaker I ever wore was the CP3.VII, and it instantly became one of my favorites—as comfortable as a pair of slippers, yet firm like a pair of basketball shoes should be. Though my playing days are over aside from an occasional pick-up game, I wore the VIIs whenever I hit the hardwood simply because they felt like the best basketball shoe available.
The CP3.IX is the latest iteration in Chris Paul’s signature line, and things have improved further. For starters, the shoe has a more stylish look and feel. The zig-zag pattern that runs down each side of the laces give the IX enough freshness to rock off the court.
Technology-wise, the CP3.IX retains that same, confortable feeling around your foot while keeping it locked down. Paul is a master of quick cuts and change of direction, so you’d expect his shoe to offer solid support—and it certainly does. Whereas other basketball shoes can cause slippage if you move too quickly, the IX holds strong, which makes it a must-have for any guard.
Its other neat feature is nine-chamber Nike Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot, close enough to your foot so you can really feel the support.
If you’re looking for one of the best point guards in the league, Paul would be a good place to start. If you’re looking for the best kicks to hoop it up in, try Paul’s CP3.IX from Nike.
