‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’ Coming Soon
Hot Tub Time Machine 2, a sequel to the popular 2010 time travel comedy, is on its way to theaters. In the new installment, Jacob and Nick travel back to 1986 to save Lou, now the “father of the Internet,” who has been shot by a mysterious assailant.
Many cast mates from the original film return for the sequel, among them Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Chevy Chase. Surprisingly, John Cusack, who starred as Adam, is absent this time around. However, Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) will play Cusack’s son. Another interesting addition is the beautiful Angela Kerecz, best known for the series Nashville.
In an interview published on Crave Online, Corddry shared several entertaining and surprising tidbits about the upcoming film, comparing it to the first movie, saying: “I think it’s way funnier and I think it’s more focused in that we found it already. We had no idea what we were doing on the first one. It just came out as this weird sort of anarchy comedy, things you don’t usually get away with when you tell a story. So this one we were able to capitalize on that.”
Returning to direct the film is Steve Pink, whose most recent directing credits include the romantic comedy About Last Night. Actor/writer Josh Heald who wrote the screenplay for the first movie, wrote this installment as well. Heald also appears on camera in the role of Terry.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 will blast into theaters nationwide Dec. 25.
