Dave Franco will star in the film adaptation of the Shane Kuhn novel, The Intern's Handbook: A Thriller.
The dark comedy tells the story of H.R., Inc., a front for assassins who target powerful corporate executives. Why use interns for murder? The film's premise is that interns are invisible, which makes them ideal assassins.
The story follows top-notch assassin John Lago as he gathers information for his next hit while working as a temp at a Manhattan law firm. While at the law firm, Lago meets a female FBI agent trying to take down the same individual Lago is targeting. Not surprisingly, sparks begin to fly between the two adversaries.
The novel has been well received since its April 8 debut. Kuhn already has two sequels planned.
Producers include Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur from Origin Film, who also produced Franco's Jump Street movies. Writing the screenplay is Oren Uziel, who penned 22 Jump Street.
