Now Hear This: Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’
Love him or hate him, Kanye West has propelled himself to international stardom through a combination of soulful production and smart lyrics. Next Tuesday, he will attempt to take his reputation further with his sixth studio album, Yeezus.
As always, Ye’s new album will be released by Roca Fella Records. Fans will have to wait to find out whether Jay-Z makes an appearance on the record, but they can expect members of GOOD MUSIC like Big Sean and Cyhi the Prince to contribute. Singer/songwriter The Dream and spoken-word artist Malik Yusef have both been confirmed as guest artists, and two of the tracks will be produced by the French electro group Daft Punk.
The tentative track list for Yeezus also boasts such names as Chief Keef, Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, and Travi$ Scott. One surprising development is that the album will include rapper Mase, who has been AWOL from the rap game for some time.
Over the past several months, West and his mentor No I.D. have been working to create what both believe is a classic album. In less than a week, we’ll find out if the pair have been able to replicate the soulful, tell-it-like-it-is vibe of Kanye’s first five albums. Check back with STACK Gamer for more news on Kanye West and Yeezus.
