Who has the best shoes on this year’s U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team?
It’s a simple question, and for Kyrie Irving, there’s a simple answer—he does.
“I think I have the best sneaker here, of course. Hands down. LeBron’s not here, so I can say it,” a smiling Irving said during a recent media availability. There’s no doubt that the Nike Kyrie 2 is a fantastic shoe, and the recent “USA” colorway he’s been rocking during Olympic practices and exhibition games are certified fresh.

A number of players on Team USA have their own signature shoes, including Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Klay Thompson. Irving’s comment makes me think there have been friendly locker room conversations between him and King James about who has the superior sneaker. Both of their lines have sold incredibly well, so there’s really no wrong answer. In the meantime, we’ll be eagerly awaiting the debut of the Nike Kyrie 3 and the Nike LeBron 14.
