Rarely, if ever, do you see LeBron James wear anything on his feet other that something from his long line of Nike signature kicks. Perhaps some sandals when he’s on vacation, or some Air Maxes or Air Jordans when he’s off the court, but when it’s game time, nothing hits The King’s feet that doesn’t have his name behind it.
That is, until today. Taking the court early to get some shots up before his Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Charlotte Hornets, James rocked a pair of Kobe XIs, the latest and final on-court shoe in the Kobe line before the Black Mamba retires at the end of the season.
Whether James wore Kobe’s kicks in homage to the retiring legend or just because he finds them comfortable, it was strange to see him out of his LeBron 13s. We expect James will change back into his regularly scheduled kicks by game time, but how cool would it be if he wore the Kobes throughout the game tonight? Stay tuned.
