Everyone thought Jones’s reaction expressed pure joy at finally being drafted in the fourth round, but in an interview with WGR 550 SportsRadio, Jones told listeners that he thought the call was a joke.
“I thought it was a prank call because I was getting calls from weird numbers all day, and I would answer and they would hang up,” Jones said. “So, I didn’t believe it until, really, it went across the screen.”
After Jones realized that it was not a prank call, he went crazy. You can listen to the full interview here.
