Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
In celebration of the 2010 Vancouver Games, Nintendo and Sega have teamed up to bring you some head-to-head competition (on the tube) with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games [Sega]
Release Date: October 13th
Exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and DS
Back by popular demand, Mario, Sonic and the rest of the crazy Sega and Nintendo cast return to the game front after a two-year hiatus. After competing in Beijing, they head out to Vancouver to compete for the gold. With new winter events and the integration of the Wii Balance board, these Winter Games are sure to be the most fun yet.
STACK’s Favorite Features:
Festival Mode: Experience Olympic competition against your friends by teaming up to take on new bosses or compete against one another to find out who’s the best virtual athlete in the snow.
Playing with the Board: The Wii balance board simulates real life movements, allowing gamers to virtually pull off tricks and slide down slopes. The new simulations are more realistic than the Summer Games and may even leave some gamers sore the next morning.
Dream Snowball Fight: Add a snowy location. Similar to the old school dodgeball game played during recess, you can throw snow against a friend or just take on the computer.
STACK’s Favorite Event: Hockey
When you’re up north, hockey is the one sport on everyone’s mind. Not the most realistic hockey simulator, the game brings more of an arcade style to Canada’s favorite pastime. Use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller to pass, shoot and score—and claim the gold medal on the ice.
