Next Generation Star Billy Bitter Joins Maverik Lacrosse
Move over, Paul Rabil. There’s a new maverick in town (just kidding—we love ya, Paul!).
Maverik Lacrosse added to their already star-studded roster of player-endorsers by announcing this week the signing of up-and-coming superstar Billy Bitter.
We could go on about what Bitter has accomplished in his young career, and we will. The former North Carolina Tar Heel, who was selected third overall by the Denver Outlaws in the 2011 MLL Draft, was a three-time All-American selection and 2010 ACC Player of the Year at Chapel Hill.
A native of Manhasset, N.Y., Bitter is also a two-time “Laxie” award winner, including Top Individual Performance of the Year in his sophomore season at UNC—an eight-goal outburst in the first round of the NCAA tournament, in which he was 8-of-9 shooting, his only miss coming on his final attempt of the game.
While Rabil overpowers opponents with blistering shots and an array of power moves, Bitter makes defenses look silly with his slick stick handling and playmaking ability around the net.
At Maverik, Bitter will assist in the design and development of the company’s next generation of equipment. “I’ve always admired Maverik’s products, and to have the opportunity to help them build their brand is a privilege,” Bitter said in the official release.
Now Maverik teammates, Bitter and Rabil might be the most formidable duo the lacrosse world has ever witnessed. Stay tuned.
