Problem Releases New Mixtape ‘354: Lift Off’
Problem recently released his new mixtape, called 354: Lift Off, ahead of his 21-city tour.
The project, provided courtesy of the L.A. Leakers, features only a few new tracks; the remainder are songs featuring the West Coast rapper freestyling over the beats from popular hits like Migos’ “Fight Night,” Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” and Drake’s “0 to 100.” It also features guest appearances from Childish Gambino and fellow Diamond Lane rapper Bad Lucc.
During a recent interview with XXL, Problem defended the mixtape featuring mostly freestyles. “I wanted to restore that feeling of the old mixtapes,” he explained. “I just remember when I wanted to hear my favorite rapper rap, and then I remember when some rappers weren’t my favorite rappers, but I would hear them just go crazy for three or four minutes and be like ‘Oh s—, let me see what this is about,’ you know what I’m saying? I want to bring that feeling back.”
He also spoke about the tour, which kicked off Sept. 3 and wraps up later this month. “I’m so excited about the tour. I just want to make it better than the last one.” Problem said. “I’ll also have my label mate and best friend with me, Badd Lucc and Jon Connor, joining me on this journey, so it’s gonna be a great time, and I want everyone to come out and check out the tour.”
