REPORT: Kobe Bryant Was Offered a Chance To Play for Barcelona After NBA Retirement
Kobe Bryant has only seven games left in his illustrious NBA career. The future Hall of Famer has accepted that it’s the end of the road.
However, the Euroleague’s Barcelona team doesn’t want to believe it.
This week, the Spanish team took a shot in the dark, offering Bryant a deal to play in Euroleague games as part of a farewell tour across the Atlantic. Here are details of why the offer was made, according to HoopsHype and Mundodeportivo:
“The intention was that Kobe Bryant had a European farewell to the height of its category as a player and receiving tributes from some of the most important tracks of the old continent. Bryant, with elegance, rejected the proposal arguing that Barca physically did not look capable of living up to what required him to play at Barca and Europe.”
Not surprisingly, Kobe declined the offer, deciding to ride off into the L.A. sunset as a Laker for Life.
