Stephon Marbury Is Bringing Back His Starbury Sneaker Line With Some Ridiculous New Designs
Stephon Marbury is a two-time NBA All-Star who played in the league from 1996 to 2009. Since then, he’s been balling out in the Chinese Basketball Association where he’s become a bonafide megastar. There’s even a museum dedicated to him in Beijing!
One thing many basketball fans remember about Marbury is his sneaker line—Starbury.
Introduced in 2006 and sold exclusively at Steve and Barry’s retail stores, Starbury aimed to offer high-quality sneakers at a discount price, with most styles retailing for under 15 bucks. This resonated with the public, and Starburys sold moderately well for a couple of years. However, the shoe line disappeared in 2009, when Steve and Barry’s went out of business. Seven years later, it looks like Starbury is making a comeback.
Last September, Marbury took to Instagram to announce that the Starbury line would be returning in the near future. Earlier today, he unveiled some new designs which are…uh…well, they’re eye-catching:
