O-D Summer Camps
Over their 42 years in existence, O-D has employed professional and collegiate head coaches, who provide knowledgeable, committed and hands-on instruction for campers. NFL players also assist at the camps. This year, pro athletes involved will include Terrell Owens, Michael Vick, Takeo Spikes, Antonio Cromartie, Steve Smith and Darren Sharper.
Players attending the camps are first assessed and evaluated at a practice session, then grouped into levels with other players of similar age, size and experience. Days consist of offensive instruction in the morning, defensive instruction in the afternoon and scrimmages in the evening. The program includes in-depth study of the game, position-specific attention, conditioning and full-contact training in a safe environment. At the end of camp, all athletes receive a written report of their achievements.
O-D has a track record of success. This year, 15 O-D alumni, including first-round pick David DeCastro, were selected in the NFL Draft. Last year’s number-one overall pick, Cam Newton, is also an O-D alum. For more info regarding pricing and eligibility, check out the O-D website.
O-D Academy
O-D also offers a number of clinics with non-contact technique sessions, emphasizing position skills, fundamentals and footwork. The O-D Academy provides an enhanced preparatory experience—including combines, classroom time, one-on-one instruction and evaluation. Bonus: on-site presence by representatives of 247 Sports and ESPN HS.
Other O-D programs—combines (with coaching sessions, evaluations and advice on how to improve test scorea); the O-D Bowl, held in the fall; and O-D Tournaments—provide additional opportunities to showcase your talent and athleticism for top scouts and recruiters. After you attend a camp or combine, O-D encourages you to sign up for their Recruiting Player Visibility Platform, which compiles your stats, photos and highlights and makes them available to scouts and coaches.
Make your summer count by attending camp.
