When you win football games like Bishop Gorman High School, people are bound to wonder about the secret of your success.
After a state football title drought that lasted nearly 25 years, Bishop Gorman has ripped off six consecutive state championships. They finished last season ranked the number 1 high school football team in the nation by MaxPreps.
For this Catholic school in Las Vegas, the success formula is simple—work smart, work hard and set your goals high.
Bishop Gorman’s facilities rival those of top college programs, boasting high-tech tools that help players fine-tune their training. But a fancy building and a bunch of cool machines mean nothing unless you work hard. That’s certainly not an issue at Gorman, in large part thanks to strength and conditioning coach Sean Manuel.
Manuel designed a program that takes full advantage of the tools at his disposal and leads to visible results on the field for his players. He says, “The kids have been able to see the correlation between busting your butt in training and being better on the field.”
When your training results in observable improvements in performance, it makes you want to work even harder. Check out the full suite of training methods behind Bishop Gorman’s success in the video above.
