Tye Sheridan Stars in ‘Scouts vs. Zombies’
Young actor Tye Sheridan (Mud) will star in the horror comedy Scouts vs. Zombies. The storyline follows three Boy Scouts trying to save their town from an outbreak of zombies.
The impressive cast also features exciting up and comer Halston Sage (Neighbors), Sara Malakul Lane (Pernicious), Matthew Cardarople (Dumb and Dumber To), David Koechner (The Office) and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Grown Ups 2), the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. The 21-year-old Schwarzenegger plays Jeff, a popular high school quarterback who is seen as a rival to the scouts.
Directing the film is Christopher Landon, best known for Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. The writing team consists of scribes Emi Mochizuki and Carrie Evans, who collaborated on College Road Trip, and Lona Williams (Drop Dead Gorgeous).
This project, which has been in production since 2011, has undergone significant changes. Based on its premise, it seems like a typical zombie flick, but the fact that the script landed on the 2010 Black List indicates that the material is higher in quality than what moviegoers have come to expect from this genre.
Scouts vs. Zombies will hit theaters nationwide on Oct. 30.
