Seventeen-year-old Jose Pena out of San Antonio is not your average high school kid. We know this because when he was 16, he represented the United States at the International Powerlifting Raw World Championship in Salo, Finland, where he broke two powerlifting world records with a 573-pound Squat and a total of 1,703 pounds.
But believe it or not, Pena just accomplished something beyond impressive by squatting even more weight—875 pounds to be exact. That’s an amazing lift for anyone, let alone a high school junior.

Check out his awesome form during the lift. He goes low enough for his legs to be parallel with the floor. That’s how you’re supposed to do it.
