Watch Jae Crowder Hit a 94-Foot Jump Shot
The basket didn’t count, which is an outrage and a sham, but Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder drained the craziest shot of this still-young NBA season.
Standing underneath his own hoop with 1.1 seconds left in the first half against Indiana last night, Crowder attempted to launch a full-court pass to teammate Jared Sullinger, the idea being that Sullinger would catch the ball and immediately throw it down for 2 points. Except Crowder’s throw hit the square of the backboard perfectly and dropped directly into the hoop.
NBA rules prevented the shot from counting as what should have been a 10-point play, since Crowder was standing out of bounds when he threw the ball. If you hit a 94-foot jumper, you should be rewarded with points, high fives and hugs, no matter where you’re standing on the court. But, whatever.
