Must See College Recruiting Videos

Recruiting isn’t just about finding the right school. It’s about making sure the right school finds you. The recruiting process is a two-way street. Yes, you need to choose the right school for you—a decision that is by no means easy. But you also need to make sure that the right school chooses you. That can also be a challenge. Just ask former Chicago Bull and current ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Williams. “I was always a kid that people overlooked,” Williams says. “They’d say, ‘he’s too slow,’ or ‘his jump shot isn’t good enough.’’” So while other players received recruiting hype, Williams says, “I was the kid in the background just keeping my head down and staying in the gym.” For Williams, that extra effort helped him elevate his game, become a Parade All-American and eventually earn an offer to play at Duke—an offer he accepted. But for many athletes, the key to successfully getting noticed and landing a scholarship to their dream school is what they do off the court or field. During the recruiting process, small details—the quality of your letter to coaches, the way you carry yourself at on-campus visits, even what’s visible on your social media sites—can make a big difference. That’s why this Recruiting Guide is designed to help you get noticed—and get noticed for the right reasons. We hope it helps you get to wherever you want to go.
