Can Ávitāe Caffeinated Water Benefit Athletes?

Newly released, Ávitāe caffeinated water promises to not only help rehydrate you but improve training as well.

To rehydrate your body before, during and after training, your best bet is to reach for some water. A dehydrated athlete cannot perform at his or her peak, so water is an essential part of sports training. But what if your next bottle of water could do more than replace fluids lost in an intense training session? What if it could actually improve your performance as well?

The Ávitāe Company recently released a new purified brand of water supplemented with natural caffeine. Designed as a healthy alternative to soda and sugary drinks, Ávitāe promises the same effects as these drinks without the sugar and artificial ingredients they often contain. The company claims that Ávitāe is a better way to get caffeine into the body, because its formula helps you metabolize caffeine much easier. Other products use caffeine created in laboratories with artificial ingredients and aspirin. Ávitāe uses only natural coffee beans.

Benefits of Caffeine

Caffeine is a stimulant drug. So, how does it improve your workouts? Studies have shown that athletes who consume caffeine before training experience increases in their concentration, energy, endurance, accuracy and speed, because the drug lowers their perception of intensity, making them able to train harder and longer.

It's possible to get too much of a good thing, however, and despite its benefits, nutritionists caution athletes to monitor their caffeine consumption levels. The body only requires a moderate dose to derive the benefits. A good guideline on caffeine consumption is one to three milligrams (mg) per pound of bodyweight, so a 150-pound athlete should consume between 150 and 450 mg per day.

Ávitāe is available in two varieties—90 mg (same as a cup of coffee) and 45 mg (same as most diet sodas)—and can be ordered online. Look for the product in vending machines soon.
