Try These 2 Insane TRX Core Exercises from Olympic Swimmer Cullen Jones
Tw0-time Olympian and two-time gold medalist swimmer Cullen Jones is gearing up for Rio in 2016, hoping to earn his first gold medal in his specialty event, the 50-Meter Freestyle.
Jones holds the American record in the 50 Free at 21.4 seconds. He set it in 2009 at the U.S. National Championships.
Jones has been posting workout videos to his social accounts, one showing him squatting over 385 pounds. But knowing the importance of core strength and endurance for swimming, he also brought us two intense and challenging TRX core exercises.
The first is a TRX Med Ball Mountain Climber. The second is a TRX One-Arm Med-Ball Rollout. Jones describes the second exercise as “not for the faint of heart,” but it looks like it will be particularly beneficial for his reach and freestyle stroke in the water.
